Coat of Arms
The signatures on these walls are real. The Office of Design of the A Vida Portuguesa was inspired by registers and calligraphies, illuminations and diverse representations. Names of duly identified kings and queens and other graphic elements consistent with the invocation of the Court's environment. He then turned them into golden vinyls, which were applied to the walls of the rooms.
The A Vida Portuguesa is a project of Catarina Portas that was born and grew with the desire to revalue the national manufactured production and the desire to reveal Portugal in a surprising way.
A Vida Portuguesa's Design Office was inspired by calligraphy, diverse archived records, illuminations and various representations found. English Kings and Queens were formally identified, as were other graphic elements that match the royalty ambience and context. The work was then transposed into gold vinyl, and applied to the room's walls.
A Vida Portuguesa was born from an investigation of the then journalist Catarina Portas into old Portuguese products, to highlight the quality of national manufacturing and to showcase Portugal in a surprising light.
