Edificio da Corte

15 apartments overlooking Rua do Ferragial, close to where the former Palácio Corte-Real stood before it was destroyed in the 1755 earthquake. This building's history is linked to the palace, which was located near Cerca Fernandina, a wall built under the orders of King Fernando in 1373. The name of this street, as well as Calçada Ferragial and Travessa Ferragial, comes from the 16th century Sítio do Ferragial, a field beyond the city wall where hay was cultivated.
